Requests for information (RFIs)

The five items below move the price more than any rate — resolving them lets us convert this budget into a firm lump sum.
RefAreaInformation requestedPricing impact
RFI-01FoundationsBase details (plan size, depth, reinforcement, founding level) for the transformer, BESS/comms/storage, feeder-pillar and DNO/principal-substation bases.High — the largest single variable; currently priced provisionally.
RFI-02Directional drillsBore length, cover depth and any known services under Motherwell Road for the two road crossings.Medium — the HDD price is length- and geology-driven.
RFI-03Spoil / topsoilCan surplus topsoil and trench arisings be retained and spread on site, or is off-site disposal required? Any WAC / classification?Medium–High — off-site disposal is a major cost variable.
RFI-04Ground conditionsAny geotechnical / trial-pit / SI data for the site?High — rates assume workable ground, no rock, no dewatering.
RFI-05Welfare / TMDo AIM civils crews use the site-wide welfare/compound, and who holds traffic management for the road crossings?Low–Medium.

Technical queries (TQs)

RefDisciplineQuery
TQ-01EarthingConfirm the 2,620 m earthing trench is dug and backfilled by AIM with the bare copper laid by the electrical contractor — same-day cable pull to avoid double-handling.
TQ-02DuctingConfirm duct spec (twinwall / plain) and that duct is supplied under the PVC Duct section only, so the trench rates carry no duct-supply double count.
TQ-03Access roadConfirm the 350 mm stone-on-geotextile build-up is the agreed spec, with no soft-ground capping / geogrid required.
TQ-04FencingConfirm the perimeter is 1.8 m deer fencing (not security mesh / palisade) — a materially different rate.
