A coordinated package delivered at Loanhead, Midlothian EH20.
A single lump sum for the coordinated package.
Packages delivered as a single coordinated piece of work.
All 126 m² of existing block paving and its sand bedding lifted — around 27 tonnes removed off site over two grab loads. The lifted blocks have reclaim value; keep them, sell them, or we dispose.
The entrance is already down to stone and gets a full 150mm compacted Type 1 build-up on a separation membrane. The rest of the drive is regulated and re-compacted to a sound, even formation.
The surface is laid tight to the stone walls on both sides — no separate edging — and the whole job runs as three preparation days plus one surfacing day. The open edge at the entrance is formed as a neat compacted chamfer.
A single 80mm compacted course of 10mm close-graded macadam (Carpave or equivalent), thicker than the usual domestic two-coat job, hand-laid by a seven-man AIM gang in one day and roller-compacted. One crew does the whole job.
The new retaining walls and steps are boarded and protected throughout, ground beside the walls compacted by hand, and the EV charger cable scanned and traced before any digging near it.
Nothing to pay up front — payment in full on completion day. 30-day price validity, 12-month workmanship warranty, and the statutory 14-day cancellation paperwork included with the quotation.
17 Lasswade Road, Loanhead — the driveway runs from Lasswade Road up the eastern side of the property. Aerial imagery pre-dates the recent wall works.

A clear boundary between the AIM package and the surrounding scope.
Two registers — Requests for Information (RFIs) and Technical Queries (TQs). Each carries a unique reference.
Do you wish to keep the lifted paving blocks, have them collected by a reclaim merchant, or have AIM dispose of them? Reclaim collection reduces the price.
Please confirm the property boundary at the entrance and whether the broken footway edge is yours or the council's. Full footpath preparation and reinstatement across the bellmouth entrance is available as a priced option at £1,900.
Please confirm the drive can be kept car-free for the duration (four working days on site, plus a day either side for deliveries), with parking on the street and use of an outside tap and WC.
Please confirm acceptance of payment-in-full-on-completion terms, and return the signed express-commencement form if you would like a start within 14 days.
Recommendation to consider: the new surface is impermeable, and where the drive sheds water towards Lasswade Road the council (Midlothian Council Roads) may raise resistance to additional surface water running onto the public road, and could ask for measures such as an intercepting drainage channel at the entrance. Liaison with the roads authority, and any consent required, is the homeowner's responsibility — we recommend confirming their position before the surface goes down.
Quotation valid 30 days from issue. Reply with answers to the queries above and we'll firm the price ahead of award.
